Y-Wire? IR Remote 5 LED light
Y-Wire is a new concept in boat lighting. Wiring is expensive, difficult to fit and heavy. Each light needs wiring from the power source to the switch, from there to the light and back to the power source to complete the circuit. With portable battery operated LED lights you can have adequate lighting without the need to hard wire it into the vessel. You can use rechargable batteries and a 12v recharger (Available seperately at Boatebiz) and an added advantage besides not having wiring, is that should you forget to switch a light off you are not draining the house batteries. Lights are attached via magnets built into the light frames or you can use velcro (They need to be removable to change batteries). This also opens the posibility of moving the lights to other locations as you wish.
5 LED battery operated (4 x AAA) light with infra red remote switching (IR Remote requires 2 x AAA), these lights have a wide angle dispersement. Single remote can operate numerous lights so long as the remote is line of sight to the light. 3 Lights would be sufficient to illuminate a catamaran saloon, a single light would be adequate for a double berth, bathroom etc. Please note that the light from LED's is cold (bluish white) rather than the warm light (cream white) of an incandescant light we are used to. There is no problems with this light but it is different.
